Mevagissey is situated on the southern Cornish coast, just moments away from The Lost Gardens Of Heligan and only 5 miles from St Austell and the Eden Project.

It is a small, unspoilt fishing village with a colourful history of boat building and smuggling, which still retains its traditional character. Mevagissey has an interesting museum containing a wealth of local history and information about the area and even a FREE Sea Aquarium on the harbour side - a must for the kids! The World of Model Railways attraction is very popular and is well worth a visit. There is a wide selection of top quality Cornish pubs where you can taste traditional Cornish Ales and sample some Cornish hospitality, and there is no shortage of restaurants for you to go for lunch and dinner.

Close by we have The Eden Project was constructed in a 160-year-old exhausted china clay quarry at Bodelva, St Austell. It was established as one of the Landmark Millennium Projects to mark the year 2000 in the UK. Those visiting the Eden Project will need to allow four to five hours.

The Lost Gardens Of Heligan are just a very short distance away  and is one of the most popular botanical gardens in the UK. The gardens now boast a fabulous collection of aged and colossal rhododendrons and camellias, a series of lakes fed by a ram pump over a hundred years old, highly productive flower and vegetable gardens, an Italian garden, and a stunning wild area filled with primaeval-looking sub-tropical tree ferns called "The Jungle". Dont miss the Mud Maid and the Giant's Head!

Mevagissey Ferry

In the summer months, there is a regular Mevagissey to Fowey ferry which is just moments away from Blue Waters Holiday Cottage.

This is a trip not to be missed as very often you will see dolphins following the boat!

To find out more information and whether the ferry is running or not see their website here >>>
